WATCH RECORDINGS

The Centre for Media Pluralism and Media Freedom proudly presents the 2022 Media Pluralism Monitor, the yearly report that assesses the risks for media pluralism and the safety of journalists across Europe.

Besides being the flagship project of the Centre, the Media Pluralism Monitor is also a key source of information for the European Commission, which relies on the findings to draw up its yearly Rule of Law Report.

During the conference “How to ensure media pluralism in the EU?” the Monitor’s findings will be presented and discussed by the research team, including the representatives from the country teams who contributed to the 2022 Media Pluralism Monitor. The researchers will present the project’s findings in four key areas: fundamental protection; market plurality; political independence and social inclusiveness. The research included the EU27, plus Albania, Montenegro, the Republic of North Macedonia, Serbia and Turkey.

Invited academics and policymakers will also contribute to the discussion.

The discussion will be enriched by a speech by Vera Jourová, Vice-President of the European Commission for Values and Transparency.

The event will be delivered in a hybrid format: registered participants can attend in presence in Florence or online.
