Mario Viola de Azevedo Cunha holds a PhD in Law from the European University Institute and an LLM in Private Law from the Rio de Janeiro State University, with extensive experience on data protection and privacy online and offline, having acted as an international consultant in these fields for International organisations, such as UNDP and UNICEF. He has also experience on Internet Governance and Regulation. Mario is currently a Senior Research Fellow at Unicef Office of Research – Innocenti working on child privacy online and a member of the Institute for Technology and Society (Brazil). Mario also takes part in the Committee on the protection of privacy in private international and procedural law of the International Law Association.
