Our Scientific Coordinator Elda Brogi will represent the CMPF at the conference “Fundamental rights and the rule of law – Civil society perspectives on the European Rule of Law Mechanism” organised by the Fundamental Rights and Rule of Law (FRRL) Group of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC). The event will take place online on Thursday 4 November 2021.

The conference will offer a space for dialogue amongst stakeholders, in particular the ones which contributed to country visits led by the EESC Fundamental Rights and Rule of Law Group in 2020-2021 (country reports available here), and to the first two Rule of Law Reports published by the European Commission on 30 September 2020 and 20 July 2021 as part of the European Rule of Law Mechanism.

The four key themes which structure the European Rule of Law Mechanism will be the silver thread of the day and will be discussed in parallel breakout sessions:

  • Justice
  • Media
  • Corruption
  • Checks and balances
