Biography
Eduardo Sánchez Molano is a Visiting Fellow at the Centre for Media Pluralism and Freedom of the European University Institute.
Eduardo is an Associate Researcher at the Observatoire Sénégalais des Migrations (Gaston Berger University of Saint-Louis), where his work focuses on digital literacy, trust in information sources, and vulnerability to misinformation in the context of European migration policy.
Alongside his academic research, Eduardo worked as Senegal Correspondent for EFE (the leading Spanish-language news agency) between 2023 and 2026, reporting daily on West Africa’s most pressing stories, drawing on strong skills in fact-checking, disinformation analysis, and ethical storytelling.
Eduardo Sánchez Molano holds a PhD in Migration Studies from the University of Sussex (2023), two Master’s degrees from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and SOAS University of London, and a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Earlier in his career, he spent over a decade working as a foreign correspondent, based in Myanmar (2016–2021), Ghana (2014–2016), and Kenya (2008–2014). His reporting has appeared in The Guardian, L’Espresso, and Nikkei Asian Review, among others.
