Biography
Corey Chao (he/him) is an innovation strategist who works with people, nonprofits, governments, and social enterprises to co-create practical approaches to complex public problems. He was previously a design coach for cross-sector municipal innovation teams through the Harvard Bloomberg Innovation Training Program, and Design Director for the award-winning social impact consultancy Reboot.
He has led strategy and design projects on topics ranging from participatory democracy, digital public space, movement strategy, and public sector innovation alongside parters including the Democracy Fund, Mozilla, Wikimedia, Facebook Responsible Innovation, UNICEF, Hewlett Foundation, and the City of New York, among others. His work has received acknowledgements in publications, conferences, and awards, including Core77, Prized Solutions, and Feedback Labs. He holds an MFA in Transdisciplinary Design from Parsons School of Design Strategies and an Honors BA in Cultural Anthropology from Haverford College. He’s currently based in Philadelphia.
